Life is a funny thing.

I spent the build up to the Cape Town International Jazz Festival sulking (and trying in vain to hustle some tickets). I was heart-broken when I realised that LAURYN HILL would be performing and I had no tickets.

Fast forward past the thousands of Facebook statuses about her performance at the concert and about how amazing it was to see her live (I was soooo jealous as I read each one) and before I knew it, it was all over. And I had to accept that I had missed my chance to see her.

BUT  THEN…

To cut a long story short, I took a quick ‘Mcdonald’s break’ from Cold Turkey last night and when I got back a friend of mine said Lauryn Hill was there. Haha yeah right?! Yep, so right!

There she was smiling and talking to all her fans, she posed with everyone who wanted a picture.

I GOT TO MEET LAURYN HILL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She was so down-to-earth and beautiful, it made me love her even more.

See, I might not have gotten tickets to see her perform, but I got to meet her! My life has been made.
